Delta Airlines has offered $30,000 (approximately 43 million Korean won) in compensation to each of the 76 passengers on board the plane that overturned while landing at Toronto Airport.
According to an NBC report on the 20th (local time), Delta Airlines announced that it would pay each of the passengers involved in the accident $30,000. If all passengers accept this offer, the total amount that Delta Airlines will have to pay will be approximately 2.3 million dollars (approximately 3.3 billion Korean won).
Delta Airlines explained that "there are no conditions for receiving the compensation, and it does not affect other rights of passengers."
Earlier on the 17th, a Delta Airlines aircraft skidded off the runway and overturned while landing at Toronto Airport.
Although the aircraft caught fire and could have led to a major disaster, there were no fatalities due to the prompt firefighting and evacuation.
It was reported that there were 76 passengers and 4 crew members on board the aircraft at the time, and 21 people were injured and received treatment.
