Night to Shine: A Dream Prom for People with Disabilities Comes to Cochabamba

Cochabamba is about to experience a night like no other. On February 7th, the city will host its first-ever Night to Shine, a global event that celebrates people with disabilities. This initiative, created by former NFL player and philanthropist Tim Tebow, aims to share God's love by providing an unforgettable prom night experience.

A Night of Joy and Inclusion
Night to Shine is more than just a prom; it's a transformative event that honors the unique value, dignity, and beauty of individuals with disabilities. The goal is to create a magical evening where every participant feels like a star. From walking the red carpet to enjoying live music, professional hair and makeup, and being crowned as kings and queens, every detail is designed to make each guest feel special and loved.

This event, founded by the Tim Tebow Foundation in the United States in 2015, has become a global movement celebrated in over 50 countries. This year, Cochabamba joins this international celebration, bringing joy and inclusion to its community.

A Community Effort
The organization of Night to Shine in Cochabamba is a testament to the power of community collaboration. The Iglesia Génesis, led by pastors Jhonatan and Kara Asbun, played a crucial role in bringing this event to the city. After learning about the vision of Night to Shine, the church decided to apply to the Tim Tebow Foundation and was selected as the host organization.

From there, an army of volunteers stepped up to form committees responsible for logistics, fundraising, volunteer management, decorations, transportation, and security. The community has embraced this initiative, offering their time, skills, and resources to make this dream a reality.

Who Can Attend?
Night to Shine is open to people with disabilities aged 14 and older, with no age limit. Each participant will be paired with a volunteer buddy who will accompany them throughout the night, ensuring they have a memorable experience. Families and caregivers are also invited to participate, recognizing the importance of their support and love. The event is free of charge, thanks to the generosity of volunteers, local businesses, and donors.

This year's event will be held at El Portal, an ideal venue that will provide an elegant and accessible environment for all attendees. The location has been carefully chosen to ensure everyone feels comfortable and special throughout the night.
