Singapore Bank announced the immediate appointment of Joey Tang (鄧祖禹) as the Head of Investment Solutions in Hong Kong to strengthen its investment solution capabilities in the Greater China market amidst the rapidly changing global financial environment. This appointment is seen as a demonstration of Singapore Bank's commitment to providing more professional and customized investment services to high-net-worth clients.

Based in Hong Kong, Joey Tang will report to Vivian Chia (謝慧彬), Global Head of Investment Solutions Group based in Singapore, and Ricky Chan (陳偉名), Head of Greater China Private Banking and Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong branch. His main role will be to lead the product and solution strategy of the Hong Kong branch in key areas such as capital markets, alternative investments, managed solutions, and lending advisory, and to develop innovative product capabilities for Greater China clients.

With nearly 30 years of extensive experience in investment banking and private banking, Joey Tang is a recognized veteran in the industry. Prior to joining Singapore Bank, he served as the Head of Funds, Alternative Investments, and Solutions at Bank of China (Hong Kong) Private Banking, contributing to strengthening investment platform capabilities and enhancing customer service expertise. He also served as the Head of Greater China and Head of Fixed Income, Commodities, and Currencies for the Asia Pacific region at Citigroup Global Markets, leading the development of customized solutions in the Asia Pacific region.

Vivian Chia, Global Head of Investment Solutions Group at Singapore Bank, said, "The demand for sophisticated investment products and financial solutions from our clients is increasing," and added, "Joey Tang's joining will be a great help in providing customized asset management solutions that meet the investment needs of our clients." In particular, he emphasized, "In a situation where macroeconomic uncertainty is increasing, his expertise and leadership will contribute to diversifying investments and increasing returns for our clients."

This appointment is part of Singapore Bank's strategic recruitment to strengthen its advisory and product solution capabilities globally, and is in line with the recent strengthening of services in the Middle East and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets through the recruitment of six new employees at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) branch.

Joey Tang holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Toronto, is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, and is a member of the Career Development Committee of the Hong Kong CFA Association. His expertise and leadership are expected to play a key role in strengthening Singapore Bank's position in the Greater China market.
