SEOUL/TOKYO – The governments of South Korea and Japan have announced the finalization of the official logo and slogan to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2025. This decision is part of an effort to celebrate a significant milestone in bilateral relations and strengthen future-oriented cooperation.
Logo and Slogan Selection Process
Over the past few months, both governments have thoroughly reviewed various submissions received through a public contest. As a result, a design symbolizing the harmony and future of Korea and Japan was selected as the official logo. In addition, the slogan ‘Holding Hands, Towards a Better Future (両手を携え、より良い未来へ)’ was finalized to commemorate the 60th anniversary.
Meaning of the Logo and Slogan
The finalized logo harmoniously places the national flags of Korea and Japan, symbolizing friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The slogan ‘Holding Hands, Towards a Better Future’ embodies the aspirations of both nations to move forward together beyond the past.
Utilization Plan
The finalized logo and slogan will be used as the official symbol for the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan, and will also be used in various events recognized as commemorative projects. The two governments plan to promote various commemorative projects over the next year to provide opportunities for the people of both countries to participate and enjoy together.
