Boosting UK Tourism via Korea-Japan Linked Travel Products

JEJU — Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Jeju Tourism Organization (President Ko Seung-chul) are aggressively targeting British tourists by developing travel packages that combine destinations in South Korea and Japan.

From October 5 to 7, the provincial government and the organization partnered with the Korea Tourism Organization’s London Office to host a familiarization (fam) tour for a seven-member delegation. The group included representatives from four major British travel agencies, Korean Air, and the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO).

Designed to capture European travel demand by offering dual-destination itineraries across Korea and Japan, the initiative aims to channel international visitors directly into Jeju.

The itinerary featured key natural landmarks and cultural experiences tailored to Western travelers, including Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, Jeongbang Waterfall, Seopjikoji, a yacht tour of the Jusangjeolli Cliff, a traditional tea experience, and a visit to the Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market.

A representative from the British travel industry remarked, "Experiencing Jeju's peerless natural landscapes and distinct culture firsthand revealed its exceptional appeal as a travel destination."

In tandem with the fam tour, the province and the organization have invited "Fun For Louis," a prominent British travel creator with 1.98 million YouTube subscribers, to film on location in Jeju from October 5 to 11. This collaboration is expected to showcase Jeju’s diverse charms to prospective travelers in the UK and broader Western markets.
