MEXICO CITY – Eleven Vietnamese citizens are currently being held at an immigration facility in Villahermosa, Tabasco, after being rescued from a kidnapping group near the US border. Mexican police freed a total of 49 people, including the Vietnamese nationals, in Chihuahua State.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico has confirmed the nationalities of the rescued individuals and is in contact with local authorities to gather further details. The embassy reports that the 11 Vietnamese citizens are in stable health.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed the embassy to provide consular assistance and ensure the well-being of its citizens. The embassy is actively monitoring the situation and coordinating with Mexican authorities to offer necessary support. The immigration facility in Villahermosa is about 800 km from Mexico City.
