(Foundation President Park Young-kook) The resident performance groups of the Sejong City Culture and Tourism Foundation are continuing active engagements both domestically and internationally.
The Foundation has been operating the "Resident Performance Group Cultivation Support Project" to foster stable creative environments for performing arts groups and invigorate venue operations. Notably, this year, the Foundation secured 300 million won in national funding through the "Regional Culture Foundation Representative Performance Content Distribution Revitalization Support Project" to introduce outstanding works by resident groups to audiences in other regions, fully initiating distribution support. As a result, both "Emotion Contents" in the theater genre and "Andamiro Art Company" in the contemporary dance genre were selected for the project and are preparing for tour performances in other regions.
Emotion Contents successfully wrapped up its performances in July at the Dream Tree Theater of the Guro Cultural Foundation in Seoul through the "Inter-Regional Outstanding Culture and Arts Program Exchange and Cooperation Project" organized by the Association of Korean Regional Cultural Foundations.
In addition, Andamiro Art Company successfully presented the opening pre-ceremony performance for the "2026 Sejong Hangul Festival." Furthermore, its work "MOON," presented on the New York stage upon the invitation of the Korean Cultural Center New York, recorded a complete sellout, showcasing the outstanding creative capabilities of Sejong's local arts community to the world.
In the second half of this year, premieres of new works for Sejong audiences will unfold at the Sejong Culture and Arts Center. Emotion Contents will present "Houdini: The Great Showman" from October 23 to 24, while Andamiro Art Company will showcase its contemporary dance theatrical work "Dorothy's Great Adventure: OZ" on December 5.
Park Young-kook, President of the Sejong City Culture and Tourism Foundation, stated, "Thanks to the continuous support of Sejong City and the interest of our citizens, our resident performance groups are achieving valuable results both at home and abroad." He added, "We will continue to provide generous support so that Sejong's resident performance groups can build solid competitiveness and advance onto broader stages."
Performance schedules and further details can be found on the Sejong City Culture and Tourism Foundation website (www.sjcf.or.kr) or via the official Instagram account of the Arts Support Team (@sjcf_artsupport).
