Governor Park Soo-hyun Attends Sudeoksa Mountain Music Concert on the 19th… Praying for the Happiness of Residents

Chungnam Governor Park Soo-hyun attended the "4th Sudeoksa Mountain Music Concert," held at a special stage in front of the main Daeungjeon Hall of Sudeoksa Temple in Yesan on the 19th, enjoying music together with local residents and communicating with them.

Hosted and organized by Sudeoksa Temple and the Howon Cultural Foundation, and sponsored by Chungnam Province and Yesan County, this concert was designed as an occasion where the historical and cultural values of a millennial ancient temple harmonize with modern popular music.

The event drew about 1,000 attendees, including Governor Park, Chief Monk Dosin, other distinguished guests, and local residents.

The concert featured colorful performances by popular singers such as Park Ae-ri, Park Ji-hyun, Ailee, Lim Chang-jung, and Hong Ji-yoon.

In addition, local artists participated to share the region's cultural and artistic capabilities, enhancing the significance of the mountain music concert through stages shared with the audience.

At the event, Governor Park remarked, "Today is a venue of communication and harmony where traditional heritage and modern art breathe together and warmly connect the local community," adding, "Art has the power to move people's hearts and unite the region as one."

Governor Park went on to emphasize, "By combining the precious cultural heritage harbored by Sudeoksa Temple with Yesan's rich tourism resources, we will complete the dignity of 'Chungnam, a cultural city you want to revisit and stay in,'" and pledged, "We will meticulously look after things so that all residents can enjoy arts and culture close to their daily lives and share the joy and comfort brought by culture."

Meanwhile, Sudeoksa Temple is a temple said to have been founded in the late 6th century by Master Jimyeong, an eminent monk of the Baekje Kingdom, and preserves a long history and cultural heritage, including the Daeungjeon Hall, a national treasure.

In particular, Daeungjeon Hall was confirmed through an ink inscription discovered during its disassembly and repair process in 1937 to have been built in the 34th year of King Chungnyeol (1308), making it evaluated as the oldest surviving wooden architecture in South Korea.
