Gyeonggi Province Selects 147 Skilled Professionals at the 2025 Provincial Skills Competition

Gyeonggi Province announced on April 18th the selection of 147 outstanding skilled professionals through the 2025 Gyeonggi Provincial Skills Competition. This prestigious event, held from April 7th to 11th, took place across eight venues in six cities within the province, including the main stadium at Ansan Technical High School in Ansan, as well as locations in Suwon, Siheung, Namyangju, Gimpo, and Bucheon.

The competition featured a diverse range of 49 skill categories, spanning traditional manufacturing to service and future-oriented industries. These categories included architectural design, welding, beauty therapy, baking, 3D printing, and industrial drone control, among others. A total of 495 skilled individuals participated, showcasing their expertise in a competitive environment. Ultimately, 147 individuals were recognized as top skilled professionals representing Gyeonggi Province, with 49 gold medals, 48 silver medals, and 47 bronze medals awarded.

Ansan Technical High School emerged as the top-performing institution, securing the honor of "Best Institution" by achieving a total of 1,126 points. The school's participants earned an impressive tally of 8 gold, 8 silver, and 4 bronze medals, with 23 students placing in the top three across various categories. Bucheon Technical High School was recognized as an "Excellent Institution" with 450 points, while Gyeonggi Automotive Science High School received an "Encouragement Award" with 394 points.

The winners of the competition were presented with certificates, medals, and prize money, with the top prize reaching up to 1.3 million Korean Won. Furthermore, the medalists will receive exemptions from the practical skills test for national technical qualification certifications. A significant opportunity awaits these skilled individuals as they will represent Gyeonggi Province at the 60th National Skills Competition, scheduled to be held in Gwangju Metropolitan City in September of this year.
