Gyeongju, South Korea — The ancient city of Gyeongju is set to come alive with music as the 'Gyochon Busking' festival returns for its third year. From August 22nd to August 31st, the beautiful Gyochon Village will transform into a stage for a series of enchanting performances, offering locals and tourists a unique way to experience the city's rich history and vibrant culture.
Hosted by the City of Gyeongju, this year's festival promises an even richer and more diverse lineup. Twelve talented teams, hand-picked from a competitive pool of 223 applicants nationwide, will showcase their artistry in genres ranging from classical and jazz to acoustic and traditional Korean music (Gukak). These performances will take place at the courtyard in front of the Gyochon Village Promotion Center, with the breathtaking Woljeonggyo Bridge serving as a stunning backdrop. The bridge, beautifully illuminated at night, will add a touch of romance and grandeur to the performances, creating a truly unforgettable atmosphere.
