[GLOBAL ECONOMIC TIMES]  The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education opened ‘Goyang Neulbom Dream Site’, a base-type Neulbom school (base center type) outside the school, at Goyang Shared School on the 17th.

Unlike models operated within schools (Ori Elementary School in Seongnam, Sangwon Elementary School in Bucheon), Goyang Neulbom Dream Center is the first model in Gyeonggi Province to utilize base space outside the school.

The opening ceremony was attended by Superintendent Lim, KB Kookmin Bank Vice President Kim Jin-sam, Gyeonggi Provincial Council members, Goyang City Council members, Goyang City Hall officials, Goyang Office of Education officials, nearby school principals, and parents.

Goyang Neulbom Dream Site is a KB project to relieve excess demand for Neulbom in 7 schools (▲Goyang Dongsan Elementary School ▲Goyang Ogeum Elementary School ▲Samsong Elementary School ▲Sinwon Elementary School ▲Jihyo Elementary School ▲Jichuk Elementary School ▲Changneung Elementary School) in Jichuk and Samsong districts, which have many overcrowded and overcrowded schools. It was built with donations from financial groups.

Here, about 80 students from nearby elementary schools can participate in differentiated programs in four Neulbom classrooms. It also operates eight after-school programs, including musicals, English cooking, and pottery, for about 210 elementary school students from nearby areas.

Goyang Neulbom Dream Center is expected to help reduce the burden on dual-income families and the cost of private education by ▲operating three routes for school vehicles ▲providing snacks and dinner ▲operating until 8 p.m. on weekdays ▲operating during vacations.

At the opening ceremony, Superintendent Lim Tae-hee said, “Our children have the best potential in the world,” and added, “I have traveled to many countries around the world, but it was difficult to find a country where each student is as competitive and creative as Korea.”

He continued, “So far, education in Korea has been focused on finding answers quickly and being efficient, but that should no longer be the case. Education is changing to education that fosters creativity, problem-solving skills, and the power to create one’s own path on one’s own initiative, and that is the basis of this.” “You have to raise them from a young age,” he said.

At the same time, Superintendent Lim said, “Gyeonggi Education is trying to change public education to the point where parents can feel at ease, and that is Neulbom Sharing Learning.” “That is the basic goal,” he emphasized.

In addition, “Schools cannot educate everything, so Gyeonggi Education operates a variety of programs for students at Neulbom Sharing School,” and “The purpose of education is to focus on what children are good at and help students find what they like.” He explained.

Superintendent Lim urged, “Rather than parents leaving their children in care while working, faithful education should be provided at Neulbom Shared School so that children can grow up in a desirable manner.”

Superintendent Lim said lastly, “KB Financial Group is making various social contributions nationwide,” and “I would like to applaud and express my gratitude.”

Meanwhile, the Provincial Office of Education is operating Neulbom Shared School, which connects both school and out-of-school educational resources, taking into account regional characteristics with diverse conditions ranging from small schools to overcrowded schools. We plan to continue to explore idle school spaces and base spaces outside of schools to expand the base-type Neulbom School (base center type) to the entire region by 2025.
