Paraguay - After more than 25 years as CEO of MEDIAPRO Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay, José D'Amato will step down on January 1, 2026. Santiago Vila has been appointed as the new Regional CEO of MEDIAPRO Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay. D'Amato will continue to collaborate with the company as a strategic consultant throughout 2025.

D'Amato has been associated with MEDIAPRO since 1998. During his tenure, he played a key role in pioneering technological and broadcast solutions for sports operators such as ESPN and CONMEBOL, and in establishing long-term partnerships with companies, sports associations, and international institutions. His contributions include the integration of the Fox Sports channels in Argentina and the merger with Colour in Uruguay. Currently, MEDIAPRO Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay is the second largest office within the group, employing over 750 people.

The new CEO, Santiago Vila, has been a key member of the MEDIAPRO Argentina team since 2000 and currently serves as the Director of Engineering, working closely with D'Amato. He began his career as the Technical Director of International Projects. In 2008, he was instrumental in the design and construction of the Buenos Aires Mediacenter, the first tapeless facility in the region, marking a forward-thinking innovation. From 2008 to 2018, he held the positions of Technical Manager and later Engineering Manager at Varsity Argentina, where he spearheaded the development of the technological and technical infrastructure 1  enabling 24/7 services for sports networks across Latin America. He also played a crucial role in the design of the CONMEBOL Hub, a groundbreaking technical facility inaugurated in 2019 that elevated the broadcast quality of Latin American football. Since 2020, he has been the Director of the Engineering Department.

Tatxo Benet, Chairman and CEO of MEDIAPRO, stated, "José D'Amato has been a cornerstone in the growth of the MEDIAPRO Group in Latin America. His extensive experience in sports and broadcasting, combined with his exceptional leadership, has been a major factor in the Argentine office becoming the second most important headquarters within the MEDIAPRO Group. We are deeply grateful for his unwavering dedication and passion over the past 27 years." He added, "We have full confidence in Santiago Vila's outstanding professionalism and character, and we are certain that he will successfully lead MEDIAPRO's operations in Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay."
