The Colombian women's futsal national team has clinched a dramatic come-from-behind victory against Paraguay to secure their place in the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup. Colombia overcame a 1-0 deficit to defeat Paraguay 4-1 in the CONMEBOL Copa América Futsal Femenina 2025 3rd-4th place playoff held today (April 1st), earning a coveted spot in the World Cup.

The first half saw a tight contest until Paraguay broke the deadlock in the 12th minute. Lorena Brítez scored a stunning goal from outside the penalty area, sending the ball into the top corner of the Colombian net. However, Colombia responded swiftly. Just two minutes later, Colombia's key player, Nicole Mancilla, calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation, leveling the score.

Fueled by the equalizer, Colombia soon took the lead. Mancilla dribbled past a defender, and Angely Camargo pounced on the loose ball to put her team ahead. Moments before the end of the first half, Camargo struck again with a powerful shot from near the halfway line, extending Colombia's lead to 3-1.

Colombia solidified their victory early in the second half. Nicole Mancilla, who has been outstanding throughout the tournament, scored her second goal of the match and Colombia's fourth, effectively sealing the win. This goal marked Mancilla's tenth of the tournament, highlighting her crucial role as the team's ace.

Ultimately, Colombia defeated Paraguay 4-1, securing third place in the tournament and the final South American ticket to the Women's Futsal World Cup in the Philippines. Paraguay finished the tournament in fourth place.
