To be held on Oct. 23 at 14:00 at Asti Hotel Busan… Approximately 100 participants, including 19 major construction firms and 34 Busan-based construction companies

One-on-one on-site consultations across 20 booths… Expected to promote local corporate capabilities and expand registration as major corporate partners and subcontracting orders

Busan City (Mayor Jeon Jae-soo) announced that it will host the "2026 Busan Construction Companies-Major Builders Win-Win Day" tomorrow (the 23rd) at 2:00 PM at Asti Hotel Busan.

Marking its 6th anniversary this year, the event was organized to strengthen communication and cooperation between Busan-based construction companies and major domestic construction firms amid difficult conditions such as the construction market slump, and to expand opportunities for local companies to register as partners of major builders and secure subcontracting orders.

This year's event is held under the theme "Raising Local Subcontracts Through Win-Win Collaboration! Reviving Busan Construction!" with around 100 participants expected, including representatives from 19 major domestic construction firms and 34 Busan specialized construction companies participating in the "Busan Construction Industry Scale-Up" project.

The 19 participating major construction companies are:

Samsung C&T Corporation
Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.
GS Engineering & Construction Corp.
Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd.
Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.
DL E&C Co., Ltd.
Lotte Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.
POSCO E&C Co., Ltd.
SK ecoplant Co., Ltd.
HDC Hyundai Development Company
Hanwha Corporation (Construction Division)
DL Construction Co., Ltd.
Ssangyong Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.
Kolon Global Corporation
Dongbu Corporation
Doosan Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.
Kumho Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.
HL D&I Halla Co., Ltd.
HJ Shipbuilding & Construction Co., Ltd.

The "Busan Construction Industry Scale-Up" project is a program supporting Busan-based small and medium-sized construction companies in registering as partner firms for major builders. Launched in 2018, a total of 210 Busan specialized construction companies have participated to date.

In particular, this event will operate 20 consultation booths to conduct one-on-one customized consultations between Busan construction companies and major builders.

Busan-based companies will introduce their construction capabilities, technical prowess, and major project portfolios, while major construction firms will provide practical information such as partner registration requirements and site participation procedures, seeking concrete cooperation measures between enterprises.

Through this, the city expects to promote the outstanding technological strength and construction capabilities of Busan local companies to major builders, broaden practical cooperation opportunities, and lead to expanded order intake and shared growth for local enterprises.

The city plans to continue providing administrative and institutional support to strengthen the competitiveness of local construction companies and foster a foundation for win-win cooperation with major builders. In addition, the city intends to expand corporate exchanges to broaden participation opportunities for local companies and support the combination of advanced technologies and construction experience of major builders with the specialized skills and site response capabilities of local firms to create synergistic effects.

Baek Myeong-ki, Director of the Urban Infrastructure Bureau of Busan City, stated, "At a time when the construction industry is experiencing difficulties due to high interest rates and rising material costs, win-win cooperation between major construction firms and local companies is paramount to enhancing the competitiveness of Busan's construction industry," adding, "We expect major builders and Busan local companies to grow together based on mutual trust so that major projects leading the future of the maritime capital Busan can lead to new opportunities for the local construction industry."
