The Gyeongnam Arts and Culture Center announced that it will host the Korean tour performance of <Tango Argentina>, showcasing the essence of Argentine tango, on Thursday, April 24th at 7:30 PM in the Grand Performance Hall. This performance, which vividly captures the fervent passion and delicate artistry of Argentina, is highly anticipated to deliver an unforgettable emotional experience to the audience.
The rich melodies that will fill the stage will be performed by the 'Fabrizio Mocata Quartet'. This ensemble, composed of pianist Fabrizio Mocata, violinist Mauro Carpi, double bassist Camila Badesi, and bandoneonist Pablo Jamil, is set to present a unique performance that infuses traditional Argentine tango with a modern sensibility. In particular, leader Fabrizio Mocata is a versatile musician who has mastered various genres including tango, classical, and jazz, and his innovative musicality was recognized with a nomination for the Best Tango Album category at the 2024 Latin Grammy Awards.
Adding depth to the performance will be the captivating voice of tango soprano Ivana Speranza. She is praised for establishing a distinctive musical world by blending classical elegance and vocal sensitivity with tango music. Her exceptional ability to interpret songs and her delicate emotional expression are expected to transcend mere singing, perfectly conveying the narrative and emotion of tango, thus captivating the audience.
The dazzling performance by 'GD Tango', which will showcase the essence of authentic tango, is also a must-see. This group, centered around the dancer duo Guillermo De Fazio and Giovanna Dan and comprising six Argentine dancers, has been promoting the allure of tango worldwide through its own productions in the United States, South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Their precise yet powerful steps are lauded as presenting a stage that transcends mere dance and resembles a work of art.
The upcoming performance will feature a diverse repertoire, including Astor Piazzolla's masterpiece 'Libertango', the immortal classic symbolizing tango 'La Cumparsita', and the intense and captivating 'El Choclo', all brought to life through live performances by the quartet and the passionate movements of the dancers.
An official from the Gyeongnam Arts and Culture Center stated, "This will be a special performance where you can vividly feel the fervent passion of Argentina, the birthplace of tango." They added, "We hope you will experience deep artistic emotion through this Argentine tango performance, which is not easily accessible."
