The Overseas Koreans Agency (Administrator Lee Sang-deok) announced that it officially delivered the 'Hansanggi' to Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok) on Thursday, May 22, at the Overseas Koreans Welcome Center, located on the 30th floor of the Booyoung Tower in Songdo, Incheon. This follows Incheon City's final selection as the host city for the 2026 convention at the 23rd World Korean Business Convention Steering Committee meeting held in Atlanta, USA, on April 17.
The handover ceremony was attended by Overseas Koreans Agency Administrator Lee Sang-deok and Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok, who celebrated Incheon's successful bid and jointly reaffirmed their commitment to a successful convention. Both parties pledged close collaboration for the effective preparation of the event.
The World Korean Business Convention, held annually since 2002, is a global networking event for Korean business leaders. It has established itself as a platform for Korean entrepreneurs worldwide to expand economic exchange and cooperation with their homeland and to explore new business opportunities.
The 24th convention, to be held in Incheon in 2026, is expected to be the largest event in its history, leveraging Incheon's characteristics as a major metropolitan and international city with well-developed infrastructure.
