Secures Multiple Titles, Including Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award, at '2025 Korea International Culinary & Confectionery Competition'

Chungnam Provincial University's Hotel Culinary and Baking Department has once again proven its standing as a prestigious department in the culinary, confectionery, and baking fields by achieving its highest-ever number of awards at the '2025 Korea International Culinary & Confectionery Competition'.

The Hotel Culinary and Baking Department announced that 20 of its students participated in the competition, held from May 16th to 18th at the aT Center in Seoul, and achieved outstanding results.

The 'Korea International Culinary & Confectionery Competition' is the largest culinary, confectionery, and baking competition in Korea, an authoritative event held annually to enhance the professionalism of culinary artists and foster the development of culinary culture.

In this year's competition, Chungnam Provincial University students showcased exceptional skills in various categories. Kim Ah-young and Han Ye-seo, who competed in the dessert category, and Kim Nan-joo and Jung Seo-young, who participated in the bread art category, each received the prestigious Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award.

In the chocolate art category, Kim Jae-young and Han Jin-kyu, in the marzipan category, Jang Hye-rim and Yoo Jae-kyung, and in the dessert category, Seo Jae-seok, Joo Min-ji, Kwon Ye-chan, and Park Min-ji received the Seoul Metropolitan City Mayor's Award. Furthermore, Lee Yoon-kyu and Choi Young-hoon, who competed in the European bread category, were awarded the Minister of Food and Drug Safety Award, demonstrating that all participating students achieved uniformly excellent results.

These achievements are attributed to the dedicated guidance of the entire faculty, led by Professor Seo Dong-yeon. Professor Seo devoted countless hours, including after-school sessions and weekends, to enhancing students' practical skills and preparing them thoroughly for the competition.

"Preparing for the competition helped me gain not only technical skills but also confidence," said student Han Jin-kyu. "I am sincerely grateful to the professors and the university for providing such an opportunity."

Professor Kim Na-hee stated, "We are thrilled to see passionate students consistently enrolling and achieving valuable results that elevate the department's reputation. We will continue to foster top-tier professional talents through our practice-oriented education."
