Chungcheongnam-do Province actively pursued recruiting international students to the province by being the sole local government to participate in the Korea Study Abroad Fair held in Germany.
The province announced on the 19th that it participated in the '2025 Germany Korea Study Abroad Fair,' which took place on the 16th and 18th at Freie Universität Berlin and the University of Tübingen.
This fair, co-hosted by the Korean Education Center in Germany and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Frankfurt, saw direct participation from eight Korean universities. Notably, Chungcheongnam-do was the only local government to open a joint promotional booth for regional universities, drawing significant attention.
The provincial office in Germany, which managed the booth, introduced the study abroad systems and admission guidelines for four universities in the province: Sangmyung University, Soonchunhyang University, Korea University of Technology and Education, and Hanseo University, providing customized consultations.
Specifically, Anke Wesselmann, a staff member from the provincial office in Germany with prior experience studying in Korea, led the consultations. She provided vivid guidance on university support systems and preparations for studying abroad, receiving a positive response from local students.
In addition, the provincial office in Germany also promoted the '2025-2026 Visit Chungnam Year,' which the province is currently pushing, effectively showcasing the region's charm.
