Singer-songwriter John Park recently took center stage in New York City, delivering a powerful message regarding the future trajectory of Korean music. Stressing the importance of genre diversity and mutual growth, his remarks have sparked significant discussions across the global music scene.
According to his agency, Music Farm Entertainment, John Park performed at the "K-Music Night 2026" event held on August 13 (local time) at the New York Korean Cultural Center in Manhattan. Co-hosted by the New York Korean Cultural Center and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), the four-day event ran from August 13 to 16, spotlighting the depth and versatility of contemporary Korean singer-songwriters. Alongside John Park, the lineup featured indie duo Dalparan (Oksang Dalbit), singer-songwriter Yozoh, and Korean-American artist Jeena, introducing diverse acoustic and indie sounds to local New York audiences.
During the event, John Park shared his thoughts on the unprecedented global phenomenon of K-pop. "K-pop groups and idol stars have brilliantly paved the way and opened doors internationally," John Park noted during an interview. "However, for Korean music to continue to prosper and sustain its momentum for the long run, artists from diverse musical spectrums and genres must venture out into the world together."

The concert will take place over three days from September 11 to 13 at the Blue Square SOL Travel Hall (formerly known as the Woori WON Banking Hall) in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
