BMW Korea Participates as Official Partner for 'Frieze Seoul 2026', Marking Five Years of Continuous Collaboration with the Global Art Fair

BMW Korea has announced its official partnership for "Frieze Seoul 2026," one of the world's most prestigious art fairs, scheduled to take place from September 2 to 5 at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Marking its fifth consecutive year of participation since the fair's inaugural Asian edition in 2022, BMW Korea continues to strengthen its deep-rooted commitment to cultural marketing. This local initiative aligns with the broader global BMW Group’s near two-decade legacy of supporting Frieze art fairs worldwide.

The milestone fifth edition of Frieze Seoul brings together over 125 leading galleries from 30 countries, highlighting contemporary modern art and showcasing a diverse spectrum of exhibitions ranging from established historical masters to cutting-edge emerging artists.

An Immersive Encounter: The Intersection of Mobility and Experimental Art with Lee Kang-so

For Frieze Seoul 2026, BMW Korea has forged a prominent collaboration with Lee Kang-so, a pioneer of Korean experimental art. Known for transcending boundaries across painting, performance, installation, photography, and video, Lee has long challenged fixed forms, utilizing free brushstrokes and negative space to focus on fluid processes, human perception, and the evolving nature of meaning.

Moving away from traditional vehicle displays, BMW Korea has transformed its signature "BMW Excellence Lounge" into a holistic, large-scale immersive art environment. The exhibition conceptualizes urban memories, physical movement, the flow of vital energy, and fleeting sensory moments. It establishes a dialogue between the ever-changing flux of the modern world and the innovative philosophy of BMW mobility.

At the center of this artistic spatial design stands the "BMW XM Label," an ultra-high-performance SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) from BMW M. Serving as a sculptural installation element within the lounge, the vehicle's bold presence and dynamic energy resonate with the fluid strokes and spontaneous movements found in Lee's works. This integration offers visitors a deeply immersive experience where art, automotive design, and human interaction seamlessly converge.

Expanding Cultural Horizons: VIP Services and Frieze Music Seoul 2026

To ensure an exceptional visitor experience, BMW Korea will operate an exclusive VIP shuttle service throughout the fair period, alongside on-site test-drive programs designed to bring contemporary mobility closer to art enthusiasts.

Furthermore, BMW Korea is expanding its cultural footprint into the realm of music by participating as an official partner for "Frieze Music Seoul 2026," which will be held on September 3 at Dugahyeon in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The musical event will feature performances by producer and DJ APRO alongside acclaimed singer Roy Kim, bridging visual aesthetics with auditory excellence.

Through this multi-layered collaboration, BMW Korea continues to reinforce its vision of progressive luxury, demonstrating how sustained dedication to arts and culture can continuously redefine contemporary lifestyle and innovation.
