ASUNCIÓN – Paraguay's Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MITIC) announced on April 23rd the release of a new version of the Portal Paraguay app, significantly enhancing access to digital documents and the convenience of using online government services. Available for both iOS and Android operating systems, this update focuses on providing a more intuitive user interface and improved accessibility.

The Portal Paraguay app is a technological solution developed to meet the needs of accessing information, using services, and managing public documents in a busy daily life. According to MITIC, through this app, citizens can handle various government-related tasks within seconds anytime, anywhere, with just a smartphone connected to the internet, reducing unnecessary waiting times and complex administrative procedures.

The new Portal Paraguay app greatly improves access to various official documents such as national identity cards, driver's licenses, and police background checks. After logging in with the Electronic ID (Identidad Electrónica), users can view, verify, and download digitized information from government agencies through simple steps.

MITIC stated that over 1.5 million citizens currently possess an Electronic ID, through which more than 7 million documents have been self-managed since 2020. Portal Paraguay facilitates access to a total of 1,108 administrative services, of which 345 can be processed 100% online. All services are available through the app and the website (www.paraguay.gov.py), with the website also slated for an interface update aimed at improving user experience.

Key features of this app update include a more convenient menu structure and optimized navigation, document access verification through security authentication methods, and offline access to digital documents. MITIC encourages users to actively switch to the new version, which offers improved speed, ease of use, and the advantage of handling tasks without unnecessary travel.

The new Portal Paraguay app has enhanced security through QR code-based document verification and strengthened personal data protection, in addition to its improved functionality. It also enhances accessibility by supporting screen reader functionality and customized navigation. The app can be downloaded on all smartphones using Android and iOS operating systems.

To download or update the app for the first time, users can search for "Portal Paraguay" in their respective operating system's app store and install it. After installation, logging in with the Electronic ID allows access to all features, and even those without an Electronic ID can easily proceed with the registration process through the app.

For inquiries or inconveniences while using the app, users can use the "Ayuda (Help)" option in the app menu or call 151.

This Portal Paraguay app update is evaluated as part of the Paraguayan government's efforts to accelerate digital transformation and provide citizens with a more convenient and secure environment for accessing public services. It is expected that the utilization rate of Paraguay's e-government services will further increase once the website update is also completed.
