SEOUL – The Korea Institute of Aviation Safety Technology (President Hwang Ho-won) announced that it successfully hosted the 'Korea-Japan Drone Roadshow' from June 4 to 6 for three days, in conjunction with 'Japan Drone Expo 2025' held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture, Japan.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Institute of Aviation Safety Technology have been continuously promoting the 'Drone Enterprise Overseas Expansion Support Project' since 2020 to facilitate the overseas expansion of excellent K-drone companies and enhance national competitiveness through drone industry revitalization.
The strength of the Japanese drone industry lies in its core material and component technologies. Given the high potential for cooperation with Korea's drone utilization businesses, the decision was made to hold a roadshow in Japan for the first time this year.
A total of seven promising Korean drone companies, local governments, and institutions participated in this event. They engaged in technology exchange and consultations with major Japanese companies and institutions, showcased their technologies and products, and explored new demand sources.
During the event, a K-drone joint pavilion was operated within 'Japan Drone Expo 2025'. Participating companies introduced their products and technologies to relevant Japanese organizations and buyers, conducting a total of 251 business consultations and successfully concluding 3 MOUs.
