The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (Minister Song Mi-ryung) and KOTRA (President Kang Gyeong-seong) successfully hosted the '2025 Southeast Asia Smart Farm Roadshow' from June 9 to 13 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Vientiane, Laos. Through this event, Korean companies achieved 171 export consultations and secured a potential contract value of $14.72 million, demonstrating the export potential of K-Smart Farm.
This roadshow was organized to full-scale the entry of Korean smart farms into Southeast Asia and to build sustainable agricultural partnerships through cooperation models that align with local demand. K-Smart Farm, a high-value-added agricultural model combining precision farming technology and automation solutions, is experiencing a continued spread of the Korean Wave in future agricultural industries such as smart farms and agricultural machinery, propelled by the popularity of K-Food. Particularly in the Southeast Asian market, which is pursuing a transition to smart agriculture, K-Smart Farm is gaining attention as a practical technological solution well-suited to local needs.
Korean smart farm technology is recognized internationally for its ability to achieve stable crop production and energy efficiency simultaneously. In Southeast Asian countries facing climate change and food security issues, the demand for advanced agricultural technology is rapidly increasing, and K-Smart Farm is positioned as a leading solution that meets this demand.
Sixteen domestic smart farm companies participated in this event, engaging in various programs including export business consultations, the Korea-Laos Sustainable Growth Forum, and site visits. During the 1:1 business consultations, Korean companies offering diverse smart farm solutions such as control systems, cultivation facilities, smart farm equipment, LEDs, and water purification systems conducted 171 consultations with local buyers.
