Pyeongchang, South Korea – Pyeongchang County is offering a special discount on trout dishes from November 30th to December 15th to promote the region's renowned trout and stimulate the local economy.

The county announced on November 28th that nine participating restaurants, including Pyeongchang Trout House in Pyeongchang-eup, Gangwon Suisan Hwechijip in Mitan-myeon, and Gihwa Yangeojang Hwechijip in Mitan-myeon, will offer a 10,000 won discount per two servings of raw trout to customers.

Pyeongchang is known as the birthplace of trout farming in Korea, dating back to 1965. The region produces 30% of the country's total trout supply, and its high-altitude farms at over 700 meters above sea level are known for producing larger, meatier, and tastier trout compared to other regions.

To avail of the discount, customers simply need to fill out a brief form on the back of the coupon provided by the participating restaurants.

“We've organized this discount event to promote the exceptional quality of Pyeongchang trout and expand sales for our local fish farms,” said Park Mi-kyung, the head of the Livestock and Agricultural Machinery Division at Pyeongchang County. “We hope many people will come and enjoy the delicious taste of Pyeongchang trout.”

The discount event is part of Pyeongchang County's efforts to boost local tourism and support the fisheries industry.
