The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Yu In-chon), in collaboration with the Visit Korea Committee (Chairman Lee Boo-jin), successfully concluded the 'Korea Grand Sale 2025' held from January 15th to February 28th, attracting a record-breaking number of over 346,000 foreign tourists. This achievement marks a more than twofold increase compared to the previous year's event.
The 'Korea Grand Sale' is Korea's flagship shopping, culture, and tourism festival, initiated in 2011 to attract foreign tourists and stimulate consumption during the off-peak tourist season (January-February).
This year, a record number of 1,680 companies participated, offering a wide range of discounts and benefits across all aspects of Korean travel and shopping, including flights, accommodations, shopping, dining, and experiences, while also enhancing shopping and tourism convenience services.
In the 'K-Travel Promotion', a total of over 346,000 inbound flight tickets were sold (a 103.6% increase compared to the previous year's event) with the participation of 10 domestic airlines including Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, and Eastar Jet, as well as global online travel agencies (OTAs). The tourism product planning exhibition, conducted in collaboration with global OTAs such as Konest and Trip.com, achieved sales of over 40,000 tourism products including accommodations and experiences (a 258% increase compared to the previous year's event).
