CUNDINAMARCA, COLOMBIA - The picturesque roads of Cundinamarca witnessed the commencement of the Clásica Herrera Sport 2025, a three-day cycling spectacle orchestrated by former professional cyclist Aldemar Herrera. The inaugural stage, a challenging 60-kilometer circuit stretching between Puente Piedra and the formidable Alto del Vino, culminated in a thrilling victory for Bogotá's own Javier Jamaica, representing NU Colombia.

Jamaica, a seasoned 29-year-old cyclist, demonstrated exceptional prowess, securing the stage win in a closely contested race. His triumph was hard-earned, edging out fellow Colombian cyclists Nicolás Paredes of Hino-One-La Red and Freddy Ávila from GW Erco Shimano, who claimed second and third positions, respectively.

The Clásica Herrera Sport, while not officially sanctioned on the national cycling calendar, attracted a robust peloton of over 40 riders. The race unfolded at a brisk tempo, with the leading group navigating the demanding circuit in just over an hour.

"The first stage was incredibly challenging, especially the climb to Alto del Vino," Jamaica remarked after his victory. "I'm thrilled to have started the race on such a high note, and I'm looking forward to the upcoming stages."

The race organizer, Aldemar Herrera, expressed his satisfaction with the stage “The riders showcased incredible talent and determination. We are very happy with the results of this first stage”.

The Clásica Herrera Sport 2025 continues with the second stage, a 100-kilometer journey from La Caro to Briceño, promising to deliver further excitement and challenges. The race will conclude on Friday, March 14th, crowning the overall champion of this highly anticipated cycling event.
