The 32nd Asian Junior Squash Championship, which will determine the strongest youth squash players in Asia, will officially kick off its main matches from July 1 to 5 at the Gimcheon Squash Stadium and a specially constructed glass court, following the opening ceremony on June 30. On July 5, the final day of the tournament, an awards ceremony for each category and the closing ceremony will be held, concluding the five-day event.
To celebrate and encourage the tournament, key figures from political and sports circles, including Gimcheon Mayor Bae Nak-ho, Korea Squash Federation President Park Se-jun, Gimcheon City Sports Council President Choi Han-dong, Gimcheon City Council Vice Chairman Lee Seung-woo, and Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council Member Cho Yong-jin, attended the opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony proceeded with pre-event performances, team entrances, an opening declaration, and welcoming remarks. It successfully began in an atmosphere of harmony and welcome, with enthusiastic cheers from the attendees.
Gimcheon City, the host city for the tournament, is a transportation hub located in the center of Gyeongsangbuk-do. Its excellent accessibility from anywhere in the country has made it the city with the most participating countries and teams among tournaments hosted by the Korea Squash Federation.
The Gimcheon Squash Stadium, where the tournament is being held, boasts the best facilities in Korea. For this event, a glass court allowing viewing from all four sides has been installed, providing a more comfortable environment.
