Seoul, South Korea – Hotel Shilla announced today that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Jeju Tourism Organization to revitalize the tourism industry on Jeju Island.
The signing ceremony, held at the Jeju Welcome Center in Yeon-dong, Jeju City on December 26, was attended by key officials, including Kim Kyung-rok, General Manager of Jeju Shilla Hotel, and Ko Seung-chul, President of the Jeju Tourism Organization.
This MOU is a follow-up to the "Promise with Jeju" campaign, a public-private partnership launched in August to promote sustainable tourism on Jeju Island. Through collaboration on tourism product development and consulting, the two organizations aim to lay the groundwork for revitalizing the Jeju tourism market.
Key points of the agreement include:
Respect: Promoting the commercialization and popularization of village tourism based on Jeju's unique culture.
Coexistence: Revitalizing the local economy through the integration of both organizations' businesses and cooperation with local residents.
Preservation: Promoting joint corporate social responsibility activities to foster a sustainable travel culture.
To ensure the efficient implementation of collaborative projects, the two organizations will establish a working-level committee to discuss and finalize specific plans.
"We will continue to collaborate with the Jeju Tourism Organization to foster a sustainable tourism culture on Jeju Island," said Kim Kyung-rok, General Manager of Jeju Shilla Hotel.
