The multi-ethnic and multicultural city of Calamar, Colombia, was imbued with the vibrant energy of its youth. On September 22, a meaningful gathering was held to commemorate the 'Jubilee of Youth,' centered on the theme, 'Hope is the Anchor of the Soul.' According to materials distributed by the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), the 'Tent of Meeting' program brought together local youth and volunteers for a time of deep reflection on forgiveness, mercy, hope, and the value of relationships. In particular, it was a meaningful exchange that rediscovered the beauty of nature and life and renewed their friendship with Jesus.

This event was a valuable experience that allowed the youth to explore the meaning of hope and realize how to concretely practice hope as an essential element of life. The participants reaffirmed the value of sharing, reflecting on the August 3 speech of Pope Leo XIV, who said, "The fullness of our existence does not depend on what we accumulate or possess, but on what we joyfully receive and share."

Community Cooperation, Making the Festival Blossom

The event was organized under the leadership of the 'Blessed Maria Troncatty Community' and the 'Our Lady of the Rosary of Chiquinquirá Province (CBC),' and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians collaborated with various local organizations to realize the synodal spirit. Social organizations, the Municipal Sports Institute (UMDERCA), the Municipal Council, the Cultural Center, and the Christ the King Parish all came together to lead the festival to success.

Calamar is a small town located in the Colombian Amazon, boasting rich biodiversity. Its unique landscape is defined by unpaved roads and streets full of potholes, with only a few cars and motorcycles. Within this environment, the youth spread positive values of life by uniting and sharing hope with each other.

The Jubilee of Youth event was more than just a gathering; it was a significant occasion to bring positive change to the community through the energy of youth and to spread a message of hope and reconciliation.
