Korean Retailers Offer Deep Discounts for Year-End Shopping Spree

Seoul, South Korea – As 2024 draws to a close, major retailers in South Korea are rolling out a plethora of year-end sales and promotions to entice shoppers. From food and fashion to travel packages, there's something for everyone seeking a bargain or looking to celebrate the holiday season.

Food and Groceries

Homeplus is offering up to 50% off on a wide range of food items, including meat, eggs, and tteokguk ingredients, which are popular during the Lunar New Year. The retailer is also running a buy-one-get-one-free promotion on select items. Lotte Mart is hosting a "Sunrise Feast" event, featuring discounts of up to 50% on essential groceries. Customers can enjoy special deals on strawberries, with a 3,000 won discount per pack when purchasing two or more. Meanwhile, high-quality Hanwoo beef will be offered at the lowest prices during the "Weekend Special" and "One-Day Special" promotions.

Fashion and Beauty

For those looking to update their wardrobe or stock up on beauty products, various retailers are offering attractive discounts. 11st is featuring a curated selection of popular gift items, including ginseng, vitamins, Hanwoo beef, fruits, ready-to-eat meals, and household essentials, all at up to 15% off.

Travel

Coupang is offering significant discounts on accommodations near popular beach destinations for those planning to watch the sunrise on New Year's Day. Over 130 hotels and resorts, including Gangneung Seongsan Johns Hotel, Sokcho The Blue Terra Hotel, and Ulsan Tani Bay Hotel, are participating in the promotion, with discounts of up to 30% for Wow members.

International Travel

For those seeking an international getaway, Gmarket and Auction are jointly hosting a "Romantic Winter in Austria" promotion. The campaign offers discounted airfares, accommodations, and package tours to Austria, as well as exclusive benefits at McArthurGlen, a renowned outlet mall. Additionally, the platforms are giving away daily coupons for discounted Austrian airline tickets to the first 100 customers.
