IDS Imaging Development Systems has introduced a new 3D camera, the Ensenso B, specifically designed for bin picking applications. This compact and robust camera offers a wide field of view and high precision, even at short working distances.

The Ensenso B's exceptional depth of field allows it to simultaneously detect multiple objects within a large working area. This makes it ideal for bin picking tasks, where the camera must quickly and accurately identify and locate parts within a cluttered container. The camera is now in mass production and has been proven to be suitable for real-world industrial applications.

With a Z-accuracy of approximately 0.1 mm at a distance of 30 cm, the Ensenso B offers high precision at close range. Its maximum working distance of 2 meters and wide field of view make it well-suited for complex tasks like bin picking.

The camera's housing integrates two 5 MP color cameras from IDS, a pattern projector, and all electronics, simplifying cabling. The IP65/67 rating ensures reliable operation in demanding environments, while the compact size of 120 x 56 x 104 mm allows for easy mounting on robot arms.

With the launch of the Ensenso B, IDS is expanding the possibilities of 3D vision solutions in industrial automation and robotics. The camera's versatility and precision make it suitable for a wide range of applications, from bin picking to quality control and assembly.

Key features and benefits of the Ensenso B:

High precision: Accurate object detection at close range.

Wide field of view: Captures multiple objects simultaneously.

Robust design: Suitable for demanding industrial environments.

Easy integration: Compact size and simple cabling.

Versatility: Ideal for various applications, including bin picking.

The Ensenso B represents a significant advancement in 3D machine vision technology, offering manufacturers a powerful tool for automating complex tasks and improving productivity.
