COCHABAMBA, BOLIVIA – The Mayor's Office, in collaboration with the Adela Zamudio Sub-Mayor's Office and Podarte, has initiated a two-day evaluation of the eucalyptus trees in Fidel Anze Park. The assessment aims to identify and address potential risks posed by trees affected by fungi and termites.

The decision to conduct the evaluation comes after a tree fell in the park last Friday, raising concerns about public safety. Sara Jiménez, head of the Forestry Unit, stated that the assessment will help determine the appropriate silvicultural measures needed for each tree. The evaluation began with 13 trees exhibiting structural weaknesses.

Bianca Molina, sub-mayor of the Adela Zamudio Commune, emphasized the importance of the evaluation in mitigating the risk of falling branches, which could potentially harm individuals or damage property. She urged residents to participate in the inspections and expressed concern about misinformation circulating among the community.

"We are committed to ensuring the safety of our residents," said Molina. "This evaluation is a crucial step in identifying and addressing the health of the trees in Fidel Anze Park."

The Mayor's Office is expected to release a report with the findings of the evaluation and the planned actions to be taken in the coming days.
