Daejeon City is recruiting participants for a "Domestic Career Exploration" program from June 26 to July 3, offering local youth an opportunity to explore careers in the promising aerospace industry.

Under the theme of "Space Journey from Daejeon, the Science Capital," this program will provide students with vivid on-site experiences and career planning opportunities by directly visiting leading companies and research institutions in the aerospace industry.

Thirty middle and high school students currently enrolled in schools located in Daejeon are eligible to participate. Applications can be submitted through the Daejeon Youth Tomorrow Foundation website. Ten participants from the Youth Career Mentoring Camp held in February will be given priority, and the remaining 20 will be selected through a random draw from the applicants.

The exploration will take place on July 22 for one day, visiting CONTEC, an aerospace parts manufacturer, KAIST Satellite Research Center, and the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) in sequence. Participants will tour the main facilities of each institution and gain a deeper understanding of the aerospace industry through special lectures and Q&A sessions with space experts.

This career exploration is being promoted as part of Daejeon City's Education Development Zone pilot project, aiming to help young people directly experience local strategic industries and proactively design their careers.

Ko Hyeon-deok, Director-General of Daejeon City's Education Policy Strategy Bureau, stated, "The aerospace industry is one of Daejeon's key growth engines. We hope this exploration will serve as an opportunity for young people to gain a clear vision for their careers."
