KakaoBank Launches Check Card with Daily Benefit Customization

KakaoBank released "KakaoBank The Check Card" on the 14th, a check card that allows users to change their benefits once a day.

This card is a product that lets customers directly choose benefits according to their consumption patterns. Users can select one of three benefit packs: anywhere with "0.5% cash back anywhere in South Korea," wisely with "5% cash back on value-for-money brands," or year-end tax adjustment with "5% cash back on income and tax deduction categories."

Because the benefit pack can be changed once per day, users can switch and use their desired benefits to match their consumption situations. There are no previous month's performance or minimum payment amount conditions for the benefit pack cash back.

The cash back limit is a maximum of 20,000 KRW per month and 1,000 KRW per day, combining all three benefit packs. Payments made through certain easy-payment services where merchant classification is difficult, as well as leased stores within department stores and supermarkets, are excluded. The benefit packs operate on a seasonal system, and this current composition will be provided until June 30, 2027.

Public transportation benefits are also included. Customers aged 19 and older can receive the government's public transportation fee refund through the "Modu-ui Card (K-Pass)" feature. If they use buses or subways totaling 50,000 KRW or more per month via deferred payment transportation, an additional 4,000 KRW is refunded, though this benefit requires meeting a previous month's card performance of 300,000 KRW or more.

Along with this, KakaoBank also introduced an AI-based "Income Deduction Calculator" on the same day. Customers can check their expected income deduction amount and year-end tax refund in advance within the app.
