Seoul, South Korea – An AI-generated film created by professors and students from Korea University's Sejong Campus will make its world premiere at the 6th Changwon International Democracy Film Festival.

The film, titled "Gulliver's Travels to Yuldo," is a unique blend of Jonathan Swift's classic novel "Gulliver's Travels" and the utopian society "Yuldo" imagined by Korean scholar Heo Gyun. This AI-powered film reimagines the East-West concept of utopia through a historical lens, setting it apart from other AI-generated films which often focus on science fiction or dystopian themes.

The film showcases the potential of AI to transcend conflict and discrimination by presenting a utopian vision where universal human values are realized.

The entire production team is affiliated with Korea University. Under the guidance of Professor Park Jin-ho of the BK21 ARMR System and Content Convergence Research Team, students Kim Joo-hyun, Hong Hyun, and Jo Eun-sol from the Department of Applied Physics co-wrote the screenplay. AIMZ Media, a production company headed by Korea University alumnus Sohwi-su, utilized AI-generation programs to visually bring the film to life. Professor Lee Yoon-jin from the Global Studies Department contributed by developing the core philosophy of "Yuldoism," which emphasizes cultural equality.

Following the film's screening at the Changwon International Democracy Film Festival, which will be held from November 16th to 22nd at Cinema Artrium in Changwon, Professor Park, Professor Lee, and Director So will participate in an "AI Film Roundtable" with film critic Jeon Chan-il.

"This film is a great example of how AI technology, combined with humanistic imagination, can open up new artistic possibilities," said Professor Park. "We will continue to strive to make AI technology a tool that can express diverse voices in artistic creation and realize universal human values."
