MIAMI - The opening day of the 2025 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship concluded on Tuesday with two exciting matches from Group B at the Malcolm Park Beach Soccer Facility in Nassau, Bahamas.
Bahamas, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United States all began their campaigns with the goal of securing a top-two finish in the group.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, with the two finalists earning spots in the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
United States vs. Trinidad and Tobago
The United States aimed to start their journey towards an eighth FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup appearance against Trinidad and Tobago, who are seeking their first-ever qualification.
This matchup is a repeat of their group stage encounter in the 2023 edition, where the United States emerged victorious with a 6-2 win. Both teams advanced to the knockout stage from Group C, with the United States as group winners and Trinidad and Tobago as the third-place team.
Key players from the previous match, including Nico Perea, Ricardo Carvalho, Gabe Silveira, and Chris Albiston, returned for the 2025 edition.
Panama vs. Bahamas
Panama faced the host nation, Bahamas, in a crucial match as both teams pursued their second-ever FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup appearance.
This game was a rematch of their 2023 quarterfinal clash, where Bahamas prevailed with a 4-2 victory. Returning players from that match included Kyle Williams, who scored twice for Bahamas, and goalkeeper Michael Butler, who also found the net. Panama's goalscorers from the previous encounter, Nagdiel Del Rosario and Luis Quintero, also featured in this year's match.
