Dubai, UAE – Genesis, Hyundai Motor Group's luxury brand, has officially announced its entry into the world of motorsport, unveiling its high-performance 'Genesis Magma' program. The announcement was made at the 'Genesis Motorsport Premiere' event held at the Armani Hotel in Dubai on December 4th.

Genesis has revealed its ambitious plans to participate in two of the most prestigious endurance racing championships: the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2026 and the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (WTSCC) in 2027. Both series are governed by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), respectively.

These endurance races demand exceptional vehicle performance in terms of speed and durability, as well as highly skilled drivers and sophisticated race strategies. They are widely regarded as the most challenging and prestigious motorsport competitions.

At the event, Genesis also unveiled the design of its high-performance race car, the 'GMR-001 Hypercar.' This cutting-edge vehicle represents a significant leap forward in both performance and design for Genesis as it enters the world of motorsport.

The GMR-001 features Genesis' signature two-line design, extending from the front to the sides. The front fascia is finished in black, reflecting the brand's 'high-performance luxury' ethos. The car's sleek profile is accentuated by an arching line that runs from front to rear, conveying a sense of strength and stability. Additionally, an active rear spoiler enhances high-speed stability and adds to the car's aerodynamic appeal.

Genesis anticipates that the design of the GMR-001 will set new standards for high-performance vehicles in the future.

"Genesis' entry into motorsport is a natural evolution of the brand," said Luc Donckerwolke, Chief Creative Officer at Hyundai Motor Group. "Motorsport, where boundaries are constantly pushed, aligns perfectly with Genesis' values as a bold and progressive brand."
