Hanoi – Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has issued a directive to expedite the nation's digital transformation, setting ambitious targets for 2025. Directive No. 07/CT-TTg mandates the swift implementation of Project 06, which focuses on developing population data application, identification, and electronic authentication to drive national digital transformation.

The directive underscores the Politburo's recognition of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as pivotal for Vietnam's progress. Key objectives include modernizing IT infrastructure, enhancing data management, and streamlining administrative procedures.

By 2025, the government aims to complete the interconnection of administrative systems with the National Population Database, ensuring seamless online public services. The National Data Center is slated for operation by August 2025, and 100% of businesses are expected to conduct administrative procedures online from July 1, 2025.

The healthcare sector will see the mandatory adoption of Electronic Medical Records in all hospitals by September 2025, facilitating data sharing and reducing redundant medical examinations. Other sectors, including finance, agriculture, and foreign affairs, have also been assigned specific targets to contribute to the national digital transformation.

This initiative reflects Vietnam's commitment to leveraging technology for socio-economic development and enhancing its global competitiveness.
