
DH Autoware, a leading automotive electronics company, announced today that it has successfully commercialized a key component for Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV) being developed by a subsidiary of global automaker A.
The new product, a direct sensing (HOD) controller, is designed for SDV applications. It integrates HOD, heated seat control, remote control switches, paddle shifters, and communication data into a single controller, significantly improving performance and efficiency compared to existing single controllers.
SDVs, unlike traditional vehicles, rely on software to implement various functions and are updated through software. Communication within and outside the vehicle is essential for wireless software updates, and SDVs are developed based on an integrated modular architecture.
DH Autoware plans to start full-scale supply of SDV HOD controller products in the first half of the year. As Company A plans to convert all vehicle models to SDVs within the year, DH Autoware's new product supply is expected to expand significantly. The company explained that it has already successfully completed performance tests after supplying prototypes to its customers and will sign a full-scale contract after further performance upgrades.
"Together with our affiliate DH Autolead, we have successfully developed a next-generation controller product that will be applied to the SDV of A, one of Korea's leading automakers," said an official at DH Autoware. "As SDVs are software-centric, the importance of communication and control technologies has increased even further."
He added, "Based on the commercialization of this new product, we will continue to cooperate with our customers to establish a unique position in the global SDV market. In addition, we will actively target the next-generation automotive market, including autonomous vehicles and SDVs, focusing on autonomous driving communication technologies that have recently been successfully developed through national R&D projects."
