Cheonan City is once again opening its doors to aspiring young bus drivers with the launch of its 'Youth Bus Driver Training Program'. Building on the success of last year's initiative, the city aims to address both youth unemployment and the growing shortage of bus drivers in the region.
The comprehensive program offers a one-stop solution for young individuals looking to embark on a career in public transportation. Participants will receive job aptitude training, assistance in obtaining their Class 1 large vehicle license and bus driver's license, specialized bus transportation worker education, and valuable employment placement services.
To be eligible, applicants must be Cheonan residents aged 20 to 39, currently unemployed, and possess a valid Class 1 or 2 ordinary driver's license held for at least one year. Additionally, candidates must have no physical impairments, such as color blindness or vision problems, and maintain a clean driving record.
The recruitment period runs until the 26th of this month. Interested individuals can submit their applications, along with required documents like resumes, driving records, and health insurance verification, via email to ch9002030@daum.net.
Last year's program successfully placed eight young drivers into local transportation companies. This year, Cheonan City is expanding the program to train a total of 20 individuals, with 10 slots available in each half of the year.
City officials anticipate that this program will not only provide valuable career opportunities for young residents but also alleviate the workforce shortage faced by local bus companies due to an aging population.
