Taeyoung E&C has announced its first contract win of the year, securing a 76.6 billion KRW project to construct the Cheongju Multipurpose Indoor Gymnasium. The company formed a consortium with Sambo General Construction and Daehwa Construction to win the bid, with Taeyoung E&C holding a 60% stake. Haean Architecture and AA Group also joined the consortium to handle the design.
The gymnasium will serve as the venue for gymnastics events during the 2027 Summer World University Games, scheduled for August 2027. Located in Seokso-dong, Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju, the facility will occupy a site area of 42,495㎡, featuring one basement level and three above-ground floors, with a seating capacity of 6,000. After the games, it will function as a multipurpose cultural space, hosting not only sports events but also large-scale concerts and cultural events.
The Taeyoung E&C consortium plans to commence construction in June and complete the project by July 2027.
A representative from Taeyoung E&C stated, "We will design and construct a space that guarantees the best competition environment for athletes and provides the utmost convenience for spectators."
