Río Grande, Puerto Rico – Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, in partnership with Paulson Puerto Rico, announced today a significant investment to transform the iconic Bahía Beach Resort into a world-class luxury destination. This marks Four Seasons' highly anticipated debut in the Caribbean, promising to elevate the island's tourism industry.

The $40 million project, divided into two phases, will encompass extensive renovations and upgrades to the resort's accommodations, amenities, and dining experiences. The first phase, scheduled for completion in 2025, will focus on refurbishing guest rooms, suites, and the resort's lobby. The second phase, extending through 2027, will introduce new culinary concepts and other innovative experiences.

“We are thrilled to bring the Four Seasons experience to Puerto Rico,” said Rafael Cedeño Paulson, Executive Vice President of Paulson Puerto Rico. "This partnership marks a historic moment for our island, and we are confident that it will have a significant positive impact on our economy and tourism industry."

A Unique Destination

The new Four Seasons Resort Puerto Rico will offer a distinctive luxury experience, making Puerto Rico the only U.S. territory—aside from Hawaii—to boast a Four Seasons resort. Guests will be able to enjoy the island's natural beauty, rich culture, and vibrant history while indulging in the world-renowned Four Seasons service.

"Puerto Rico is a truly unique destination, with its stunning beaches, lush rainforests, and rich cultural heritage," said Ricardo Suárez, Head of Development for Four Seasons. "We are excited to be a part of this community and contribute to its continued growth and prosperity."

Preserving the Environment and Creating Jobs

While the resort undergoes a significant transformation, Paulson Puerto Rico is committed to preserving the natural beauty of the area. The company plans to maintain the resort's environmentally friendly practices and enhance its sustainability initiatives.

Additionally, the development is expected to create numerous job opportunities for local residents. Paulson Puerto Rico has pledged to retain the current workforce of over 200 employees and to create additional positions as the resort expands.

A Growing Portfolio

The Four Seasons Resort Puerto Rico will feature 139 renovated guest rooms and suites, as well as 85 private residences. The resort will also offer a variety of amenities, including multiple dining options, a world-class spa, and extensive recreational facilities.

With this latest addition, Four Seasons continues to expand its global footprint and solidify its position as a leading luxury hospitality brand.
