Seoul, South Korea – The Korea Park Golf Association has abruptly halted all procedures related to the inauguration of its newly elected president, Hong Seok-ju.
The association had planned to hold a board meeting on the 10th to finalize the schedule for the new president's inauguration, followed by a general assembly on the 16th. However, both events have been postponed.
Hong Seok-ju was elected as the 4th president of the association on December 20th after securing the most votes. The association was set to officially begin his term after receiving approval from the Korea Sports Council and holding an inauguration ceremony at the scheduled general assembly.
Sources within the association have revealed that the postponement is due to a series of complaints filed against the association following the election. The complaints allege irregularities and misconduct during the election process, specifically targeting Hong Seok-ju. However, Hong has vehemently denied these allegations in an interview with this publication.
The association has decided to delay the inauguration process until a thorough investigation into the complaints is completed. The Korea Sports Council is also reportedly looking into the matter to verify the claims.
