"The 9th Sejong Architecture Culture Festival" to be Held… Featuring Exhibitions, Hands-on Activities, Special Lectures, and More

The City of Sejong (Mayor Cho Sang-ho) will hold the "2026 9th Sejong Architecture Culture Festival" for four days from October 21 to 24 at the Sejong City Office of Education Lifelong Education Center.

Hosted by Sejong City, organized by the Sejong City Architects Association, and held in cooperation with the Sejong City Office of Education, this event will run under the theme "Sejong: Past, Present, and Future."

In particular, the event is composed of a variety of programs—including exhibitions, hands-on activities, and special lectures—designed so that citizens can easily understand and enjoy architectural culture.

The festival kicks off with an opening ceremony at 3:00 PM on the 21st, followed over the four-day period by exhibitions of award-winning works from the university student architecture competition and the youth summer architecture school, an architectural pavilion exhibition, and an architectural film festival.

Hands-on programs that citizens can directly participate in will also be operated, such as making small furniture and an children's creative architecture class.

On the 23rd, Professor Emeritus Hwang Jae-hoon of Chungbuk National University will be invited to give a special lecture under the theme of the transition process of Sejong and the direction of future cities.

Through this lecture, the city plans to examine the formation and urban development process of Sejong City, and present the direction it should take as a sustainable future city from an urban planning perspective.

The architecture culture festival is open to any citizen to view freely, and detailed information can be obtained by contacting the Architecture Division of Sejong City Hall (☎ 044-300-5413).

Ahn Jong-soo, Director of the Urban Housing Bureau, stated, "This architecture culture festival will be an opportunity to look back at the past and present of Sejong and think about the direction that future cities and architecture should take," adding, "We hope that citizens can experience architectural culture up close and share the urban value of Sejong together."
