The Paraguayan government has taken a significant step towards national development by strengthening its collaboration with the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI) and the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF). The two organizations have signed two strategic agreements aimed at developing key sectors in Paraguay.

Development of Cultural and Tourist Attractions in Asunción

CAF, the Paraguayan National Secretariat of Culture (SENATUR), and OEI have signed a cooperation agreement to transform the traditional San Jerónimo area of Asunción into a sustainable tourist destination. This project aims to strengthen the cultural identity of the local community, improve infrastructure, and create economic opportunities through tourism.

Key aspects of the agreement include:

Promoting community integration activities
Creating cultural spaces within the area
Providing educational programs for local entrepreneurs
This agreement is expected to contribute to sustainable development by preserving the cultural value of the San Jerónimo area and providing new economic opportunities for local residents.

Enhancing Public Transparency and Institutional Capacity

Additionally, OEI and CAF have signed a technical cooperation agreement to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Paraguayan Executive Comptroller General's Office (AGPE). This agreement aims to enhance public accountability and increase transparency through human resource training, the introduction of new work methodologies, and improved knowledge transfer mechanisms.

Key aspects of the agreement include:

Providing capacity-building training for AGPE staff
Introducing new audit methodologies
Improving knowledge sharing and transfer systems
Through this agreement, the Paraguayan government is expected to modernize its audit processes and strengthen control mechanisms, enabling efficient and transparent public administration.

Efforts for Sustainable Development

OEI and CAF have reaffirmed their commitment to Paraguay's sustainable development through these agreements. Both organizations plan to actively support Paraguay's development in two crucial areas: promoting cultural tourism and strengthening institutional capacity for sound governance.

OEI (Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture): An international organization that promotes educational, scientific, and cultural cooperation among Ibero-American countries.
CAF (Development Bank of Latin America): A development bank that supports the sustainable development of Latin America and the Caribbean.
This collaboration is expected to play a crucial role in promoting Paraguay's cultural values, stimulating the local economy, and enhancing public transparency.
