Paraguay-Colombia Hold High-Level Meeting to Strengthen Military Cooperation

Paraguay will hold the second high-level meeting with Colombia to strengthen military cooperation. Senior Paraguayan and Colombian military officials will hold talks from March 19 to 20, aiming to enhance cooperation in security and defense.

Key Discussion Points:

Joint Initiatives for Regional Security Improvement: Both countries will discuss joint initiatives to improve regional security.
Sharing Experiences and Best Practices: Both countries will strengthen cooperation by sharing experiences and best practices in the military field.
Joint Training Programs and Military Personnel Education: Both countries will strengthen cooperation through joint training programs and military personnel education.
Defense Technology Development: Both countries will strengthen military capabilities through defense technology development cooperation.
Analysis of Achievement and Establishment of Future Cooperation Strategies: Both countries will analyze the achievements of existing cooperation and establish future cooperation strategies to promote continuous cooperation.
Strengthening cooperation on non-traditional security issues such as drug trafficking and cyber security response.

Meeting Delegation:

Paraguay Delegation: Army General César Augusto Moreno Landaira (Commander of the Paraguayan Armed Forces)
Colombia Delegation: Admiral Francisco Hernando Cubides Granados (General Commander of the Colombian Armed Forces)

Importance of Bilateral Cooperation:

This meeting is expected to play an important role in further solidifying military cooperation between the two countries and strengthening regional security. Both countries are expanding cooperation in various fields through strategic partnerships, and this meeting will enable them to build a more developed cooperative relationship.

Paraguay and Colombia are cooperating for the security and stability of the South American region.
Based on the 'Defense Cooperation MOU' signed between the two countries in April 2022, they decided to further strengthen defense cooperation.
Colombia is a country that participated in the Korean War and maintains a strong relationship with South Korea.
This cooperation is expected to contribute to the security and stability of not only both countries but also the entire South America.
