Juan Pablo Poletti, the mayor of Santa Fe, visited Paraguay and completed various schedules, including meetings related to the ODESUR Games, meetings with business leaders, and the signing of a sister city agreement with the city of Asunción.

Mayor Poletti met with the Paraguayan Olympic Committee and inspected the facilities of the South American Games (ODESUR) held in Paraguay in 2022. This visit was to obtain information and share experiences that could be helpful in preparing for the ODESUR Games to be held in Santa Fe next year.

He met with Oscar Rodriguez, the mayor of Asunción, Paraguay, and signed an international cooperation and sister city agreement. Through this agreement, the two cities plan to expand exchanges in various fields such as culture, economy, and sports.

At the Argentine Embassy in Paraguay, he met with Paraguayan business leaders to promote a trade exchange event to be held in Santa Fe in May and discussed ways to increase trade between the two regions.

At the headquarters of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), he met with Minister of Education Luis Ramirez to discuss cooperation in sports and education. He also attended the Copa Sudamericana draw with Neri Pumpido.

Mayor Poletti will stay in Paraguay until at least Wednesday, visiting other Olympic centers to learn about game organization methods and holding meetings with Paraguayan airlines to operate regular international flights from Sauce Viejo. This is an important issue that can greatly improve accessibility for Santa Fe and surrounding areas (Rosario, Cordoba, Parana, etc.). He will also hold additional meetings with companies to promote the export potential of the Port of Santa Fe and discuss waterway utilization plans.

ODESUR Games: A comprehensive sports competition for South American countries organized by the South American Sports Organization (ODESUR).

Sister City: Refers to two cities establishing an official cooperative relationship and exchanging in various fields such as culture, economy, and education.

Waterway: Refers to a route for transporting cargo using rivers or canals, and the Port of Santa Fe can conduct maritime transport through the Parana River.
Sauce Viejo Airport: An airport located in Santa Fe, which can serve as an air traffic hub for the surrounding area if international routes are opened.
Mayor Poletti's visit to Paraguay is expected to enhance Santa Fe's international status and strengthen practical cooperation in the economic and sports fields.
