SK Hynix, a global leader in memory semiconductor technology, has announced that it has obtained the Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX) certification, a globally recognized information security standard for the automotive industry. This is the first time that a memory chipmaker has received this certification, demonstrating SK Hynix's commitment to meeting the stringent security requirements of the automotive sector.

The TISAX certification is based on the assessment criteria developed by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) and operated by the European Network Exchange (ENX). It aims to standardize information security practices among companies within the automotive supply chain.

SK Hynix's acquisition of the TISAX certification covers all of its domestic operations in Icheon, Bundang, and Cheongju, which have been recognized for their security capabilities in information security policies, risk management, physical security, security system management, and development.

With the increasing demand for memory in the automotive industry, particularly with the growth of electric vehicles, autonomous driving, and connected car technologies, SK Hynix's TISAX certification positions the company as a trusted partner for automakers. The company plans to leverage this certification to strengthen its collaboration with global automakers and key component suppliers, while also minimizing redundant costs and fostering long-term business partnerships.

"We are committed to providing our customers with the most secure and reliable memory solutions for their automotive applications," said Kim Jong-hwan, Vice President of DRAM Development at SK Hynix. "With this certification, we will further strengthen our collaboration with global automakers and key component suppliers, and lead the next generation of automotive memory semiconductor market."

SK Hynix's achievement of the TISAX certification marks a significant milestone in the automotive memory industry, highlighting the importance of information security in this rapidly evolving sector. As the demand for memory in automobiles continues to grow, SK Hynix is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend and solidify its leadership in the market.
