Sejong Special Self-Governing City (Mayor Cho Sang-ho) announced that it will halt the publication of its printed municipal newsletter and fully transition to an online webzine format starting in October.

Published monthly since the city's inception, the municipal newsletter has delivered city updates and useful lifestyle information to guarantee citizens' right to know and expand opportunities for municipal participation.

The decision to switch to an online webzine system was made to secure immediacy in response to the growing demand for information access via mobile and PC, as well as to reduce the burden of printing and mailing costs.

Accordingly, the city will introduce the newsletter in a webzine format optimized for mobile devices and PCs starting with the October issue, which will be published on the 1st of next month.

While faithfully including the useful municipal news and lifestyle information previously covered in the print newsletter, the city plans to enhance readability by strengthening visual elements such as photos and infographics and improving the design.

In addition, going forward, beyond regular monthly publications, major municipal news such as key policies, benefit programs, and events will be updated on an immediate basis to ensure prompt municipal promotion.

The webzine can be accessed on the Sejong City website (www.sejong.go.kr). Citizens who sign up for membership on the city website and apply for a subscription using their mobile phone number will receive a notification text message containing a webzine link via KakaoTalk or SMS every month upon publication.

Kim Dae-young, Head of the Press Cooperation Team, stated, "Through the complete transition to a webzine, we expect to reduce municipal promotion costs and enable prompt publicity. We will build a webzine optimized for mobile and PC environments so that citizens can conveniently access municipal news every month."

Meanwhile, personal information (name, contact number, address) collected during previous print newsletter subscription applications will be discarded.
