Chungcheongbuk-do announced that it will host the "23rd Chungcheongbuk-do Forest Culture Event" on Saturday, October 17, at the Cheongju Saengmyeongnuri Park area, bringing together forestry workers, forest-related organizations, and local residents.
Now in its 23rd year, the Forest Culture Event has been held annually to enhance the cultural value of forests, widely promote the preciousness of forest resources, and foster harmony between forestry workers and local residents.
Hosted by the Chungcheongbuk-do Forest Culture Event Promotion Committee (Chairman Cho Jwa-yeon) and sponsored by the Korea Forest Service, Chungcheongbuk-do, Cheongju City, the National Forestry Cooperatives Federation, and local forestry cooperatives, the event will feature an opening ceremony, a forestry workers' harmony festival, commendations for outstanding forestry workers, forest product exhibitions and sales, and various experiential programs.
In particular, this year's event will be held in conjunction with the "2026 Korea Forest Fair," which takes place for three days from October 16 to 18 at the Cheongju Saengmyeongnuri Park area. Participants will be able to enjoy a wide range of exhibition and experience programs alongside cultural performances from the Forest Fair, providing a broad opportunity to experience the value of forest culture.
On the day of the event, commendations will be awarded to 23 outstanding forestry workers who have contributed to forest development and the enhancement of forest culture. Additionally, a city and county harmony contest and talent show will be held to create a venue for communication and enjoyment among forestry workers and residents.
Residents wishing to participate can visit Cheongju Saengmyeongnuri Park on the day of the event to experience a rich variety of attractions and activities from both the Forest Culture Event and the Forest Fair.
